Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities Food Bank

The SCHC Food Bank is one of the busiest programs of its kind in Scarborough. Individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity can access food supports from the program on a weekly basis. In support of these families, the Fortress team collected and donated food and other items in high demand to the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities.

Ride for Heart

Congratulations to our Ride for Heart Corporate Team! With 50 participants, they raised over $13,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation this year.
More than 66,000 Canadians die each year from heart disease and stroke – that’s 1 every 7 minutes. Fortress’s team raised funds to support researchers across Canada who are working on breakthrough treatments that save lives and improve survivor recovery.

Fortress supported Andrew Frei, Steve Gidman, Pierre DiGirolamo, Dominic Locas, and Phil Brown in the “Ride to Conquer Cancer”.

They cycled cover 200km, from Toronto to Niagara Falls, with thousands of other riders. All proceeds went to The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to support cancer research, treatment, and services. The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is Canada’s leading comprehensive institution devoted to cancer research and care, and the work they’re doing is leading edge.
